YWAM Laoag history
YWAM Laoag was re-pioneered out of a vision to see where YWAM is not. In the late 1980s, a group of YWAMers from Manila attempted to establish the YWAM Laoag base/OPLOC in this region. But it only lasted a couple of years and, unfortunately, was closed.
Our Mission
DTSs and staff outreaches were visiting the city as well as the surrounding municipalities. Nonetheless, there was no known attempt to re-establish the work of YWAM around the Ilocos Norte region, particularly Laoag City.
However, the seeds of prayer were sown by those YWAMers from the Northern Luzon Region (NLR). Who were consistently sending individuals and teams for more than two decades to maintain the YWAM presence in the area.
Finally, the time has come. YWAMers from Manila, led by the couple Josefito and Evelyn Gepulla, re-pioneered the YWAM Laoag ministry again in 2018. Since then, YWAM Laoag has steadily grown into a family of ministries reaching out to local communities, serving the local churches, and government.
